I went to Two Boys Brew for brunch during the week and was telling a friend I went, they of course asked was it good, It wasn't just good though, it was great! What a brilliant little spot. The two boys in question for such a promising spot brunch spot are Taurean Coughlan and Kevin Roche. You cant help but feel how much their coffee culture love comes through in the bustling Phibsborough location.
After moving to Melbourne and being engrossed in their lively coffee culture the two boys decided to return to Ireland, learn all there is to know about food and coffee and implement this into their very own café using inspiration from dishes they had eaten while away and they've really hit the nail on the head. They offer a great variety of brunch dishes on the menu running all day everyday of the week, with a slight change on a Sunday and then breakfast each morning.
Since I don't eat dairy the staff were super accommodating and I even got to have the chai latte, which is absolutely epic on almond milk may I add. They make it from fresh spices and it is so delicious.
For my main dish, which came out super speedy was (and try not to drool), roast mushrooms, spinach, poached eggs, confit garlic (this was bloody brilliant), herb oil, crushed hazelnuts on sourdough, I may have got some black pudding on the side too!! The confit garlic was this smooth paste smeared across the sourdough, it tasted like puréed roast garlic and it was just delicious, paired with the mushrooms it was just so full of flavour.
If you are ever around the North circular road you should go...and if you're not go out of your way to make a visit. I know if I lived close by I would be there everyday! I'll definitely have to take a trip back to try out more dishes from the menu, I've my eye on the crispy poached eggs.
Let me know what you guys think of this place, I hope you get to visit and love it as much as I do.
